Egis Kormend (A Division) agreed terms with 27-year old American guard Xavier Thames (191-86kg-91, college: San Diego State, agency: Slash Sports). He played last summer at Canterbury in New Zealand NBL league. Thames managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 15 NBL games he had very impressive stats: 18.4ppg, 3.7rpg, 3.4apg and 2.3spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand NBL 2nd Team.
Part of last season he spent at Aiolos Trikallon (C) in league where in 10 games he recorded 13.1ppg, 2.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.3spg. Thames also played for Bnei Hasharon (Winner League) in league. In 9 games he averaged 6.6ppg and 1.2rpg. He also played 10 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got 10.7ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg.
In 2014 Thames was drafted by Toronto Raptors (NBA) in second round (59th overall). The former San Diego State staris in his fifth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won Macedonian League championship title in 2017. Thames was also voted All-MWC Player of the Year back in 2014 at his college time.
Thames has played also professionally in Spain (Real Betis), FYR Macedonia (MZT Skopje) and NBA G League (Fort Wayne Mad Ants).

He had a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, while his team outclassed Jets (#8, 1-5) with 27-point margin 134-107. Hawks is placed at 2nd position in New Zealand league. NBL Round 6: Huskies beat Giants by two after a very close game - 5 days ago
Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game of round 6 in the NBL took place in Hobart. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Giants (3-5) to sixth ranked Huskies (3-4) 93-91 in the game for the fifth place. Huskies made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game.
