Angus Brandt
ANGUS BRANDT

29-year old center Angus Brandt (208-C-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Hawks and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Airs (#8, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 97-88. Hawks is placed at 2nd position in New Zealand league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Hawks will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. Brandt just recently signed at Hawks and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader.

Second best performed player last round was Kevin Foster (203-PF-89, agency: Haylett Sports) of Airs. He is Jamaican forward in his first season at Airs. In the last game Foster recorded impressive 37 points. Bad luck as Airs lost that game 88-97 to Hawks (3-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Foster is one of the most experienced players at Airs and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.3ppg (#4).

Third place about best performers goes to forward Venkatesha Jois (203-F-93) of Rangers (#7). Jois scored 19 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Jois' great performance Rangers lost 68-84 to Huskies (#5, 2-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Rangers can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Jois he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Jois has individually a great season in New Zealand. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 11.0rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dominique Kelman-Poto (201-F-94) of Sharks - 27 points
5. Rhys Vague (206-F-96) of Giants - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Sunday Dech (196-G-94) of Saints - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Kuran Iverson (206-F-95) of Jets - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Robert Loe (211-F-91) of Saints - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Craig Moller (203-F-94) of Huskies - 20 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Shea Ili (184-G-92) of Saints - 23 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
