American Forward Todd Withers (202-F-1996) had a great game in the last round for Otago Nuggets, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds, while his team edged out Jets (#5, 3-2) 108-104. Nuggets is placed at 8th position in New Zealand NBL. Nuggets is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Withers had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Nuggets, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Queens University star has very solid stats this year. Withers is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.0rpg) and averages impressive 1.7bpg,52.6% FGP and 47.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Chris Jones (178-PG-1991, agency: Haylett Sports) of league's second-best Tauranga Whai. Jones had a very good evening with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Tauranga to edge Tuatara (#11, 0-3) 78-76. This victory allowed Whai to move up to second position in the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Jones is one of the most experienced players at Whai and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Australian swingman Nick Marshall (198-F/G-1999) of Wellington Saints (#7). Marshall got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Saints, leading his team to a 122-83 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Sharks (#9, 1-3). Saints needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost games. Marshall has a great season in New Zealand. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.0ppg (8th best).

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
