SIP returned to the top of the hill Sunday night after winning Game 3 of their best-of-five series against Cabalen-RP Construction/Transamerica in the finals of the Budweiser-Coca Cola 6th UFO Inter-Organizational Basketball League. source: Shan Seman for Saipan Tribune.

With a jam-packed crowd on hand at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, SIP perfectly executed their full-court defense, forced countless turnovers, and held off a late charge to win their fourth championship in six seasons with a 95-86 victory. Alegre led five SIP cagers in double figures with a game-high 24 points, while Guiab and Edsel Mendoza supported with 16 and 12 points. Elmer Esdrelon and Edmark Mendoza also contributed 11 and 10 points. Alegre also had a nice all-around game, finishing with nine rebounds, eight assists, and two steals. Palma and Dalangin paced Cabalen with 22 points apiece, while Delos Reyes added 16 points. Dalangin and Delos Reyes shared rebounding honors with 15 each.

Banmi brings back bigger Settsu tournament - 5 Years ago
According to tournament director and coordinator Gabriel White, the Settsu Red Impulse Basketball Club is bringing in two U18 teams (girls and boys) for the sixth edition of the tournament that will run from March 26 to 28 at the Marianas High School Gymnasium. CNMI - Pohnpei 67:71 Northern Mariana Islands got to a slow start of the 7th Micronesian Games in Palau. They lost the opener to Pohnpei. Northern Mariana Islands got to a slow start. They were down by 7 points 11:18 at the first break. But the strong second quarter helped them take a 34:29 advantage at the interval. Pohnpei stressed the game inside the paint and it paid off.
