About The Championships:
A range of activities will be held during the Championships, and include:
* Mr Lubo Kotleba, FIBA Sports Director will be holding a FIBA Referee Clinic from Wednesday 27th November to Friday 29th November inclusive. Officials from across the Pacific who have been FIBA accredited will attend the course, and stay to officiate the Championships.

* Mr Patrick Hunt, President World Association of Basketball Coaches, will be conducting the Tournament Coach Course for coaches of the 2014 Youth National teams. This course prepares coaches for the intensity of coaching during a multi-day tournament.

The Championship is a great opportunity to build the capacity of local basketball volunteers and to showcase the beautiful Porirua region to the Oceania teams.

The Board of FIBA Oceania, when agreeing to a name change from the Oceania Senior Tournament to the Pacific Championships, agreed that this event would be held every 4 years, on the off two year cycle to the Pacific Games. FIBA Oceania will not support a basketball program in the Mini Games, but will provide the Pacific Championship basketball competition for the countries of the zone every 4 years.
