Fiji successfully started Pacific Games 2023. They overcame Tahiti 70-45 in the opener. Fiji managed to win the first period 19-9, whilst the opponents replied with a narrow 16-14 run in the second frame. Fiji meanwhile needed a 16-10 and 21-10 rallies in the second half to seal the win.
