New Caledonia advanced to the semifinals of the Pacific Games 2023. They edged Papua New Guinea 87-78 in the Quarterfinal clash.
New Caledonia scored 20 points in the first and then the second frame for a 40-38 halftime advantage. The third quarter was decisive in the game as New Caledonia needed a 26-19 surge to seal the win.
