Palau HS defeated the reigning champions MHS Cardinals 75-74 in the Island School League Boys Varsity final. It was one of the best game of the year.

The MHS Cardinals wanted to win a back-to-back title in the ISL over PHS Green. They were leading by 10 with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter, PHS started a pressure defense with NT member Nik Techamang (F/C) key block shot from MHS offensive specialist Bedor Kyota (G), which lead to a fastbreak point. Then the PHS defense picked up and started stealing the ball at half-court until they caught up and eventually took the lead with 15 seconds left in the game. MHS had two opportunities in the final seconds to win the game, but unfortunatly the day belonged to Palau High-School as both of the attempts came out and Nik Techamang secured the final rebound with a second to play.
The final score was 75-74, the Palau High-School Greens now owns the bragging rights of ISL varsity until next season.
