Papua New Guinea name preliminary squad for the South Pacific Games

The Papua New Guinea Basketball Federation announced a 14-name preliminary squad for the upcoming South Pacific Games which will be held in Samoa at the end of August. The team features some players who were in the U20 team who played in the 2006 FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament like Julie-anne Diro (F-86), Nape Waka and Mary Elavo. Bety Angula, who has been suspended from the Oceania All-Star tour earlier this year has not been called in the team.
