PNG women defeat Vanuatu in classification round

The first women's classification game was played this morning, with PNG defeating Vanuatu 74 to 67, in a very see-sawing game. PNG were ahead by 2 at quarter time, but by half time Vanuatu were ahead by 4 points. PNG got ahead by 4 at the 3 quarter break, and pushed that lead out to a 7 point lead by full time. Nape Waka contributed 20 points, Susan Paisoi 12 and Julie-Ann Diro 10 points for PNG, while Rosely Willy had her best game of the competition with 23 points.

The win to PNG will see them play-off for 5/6th position, while Vanuatu will play-off for 7/8th position.
