Fiji continue their winning streak at the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. In Day 2 the team overcame Papua New Guinea 97:56.
Fiji won the opening game of the tournament and was the favorite of the game. They erupted with 27-9 in the first period and scored the same number of points in the second frame for 54:29 halftime advantage. Moreover Fiji won the third period 22-12 and finished the game with 21-15.
Filimoni Vulimailaucala top-scored for the winners with 25 points and Ulaiasi Koroi nailed 18. Lorima Sautu brought 12, while Mataika Koyamainavure and Iosefo Taliu delivered 11 each. Bomai Muri answered with 15 points in the losing effort and Emmanuel Parapa added 12. Wali Aila had 9, whilst Gerry Suve tossed in 6.
Tomorrow Fiji will take on New Zealand, while Papua New Guinea will face New Caledonia.
