Australia continued their dominant performance at the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The hosts knocked down Papua New Guinea to enter the semifinal stage of the competition. Georgia Pineau stepped up with 29 points and 13 rebounds to pace the hosts.
Australia opened the game with a 35:4 rally. They piled up a 66:13 halftime advantage. Australia stayed in control over the second half. The home team posted a 96:15 advantage heading into the fourth frame and never looked back en route to the victory. Danijela Milsic netted 22 points and collected 13 boards, while Alexandra Sharp provided 20 points and 18 boards for Australia. Renagi Fred answered with 10 points for Papua New Guinea. Rosa Kairi netted 6 points in the loss.
