Papua New Guinea registered their first win at the Pacific Championship. They overcame Samoa for 1-1 record in Group B. Betty Angula scored 13 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the winning side.
Papua New Guinea opened an 18:10 lead after ten minutes of action. Samoa cut the deficit in the second term. They got within 4 points at the interval 32:28. Papua New Guinea extended their lead in the third term. They fired 20 points in the quarter and established a 52:38 advantage at the final intermission. Papua New Guinea did not allow Samoa to recover in the fourth period and raced to the victory. Nape Waka and Emily Koivi scored 12 points each in the win. Savannah Tafau-Levy (175-F-95) responded with 24 points and 11 boards for Samoa. Charlotte Davis chipped in 12 points in the defeat.

New Caledonia - Papua New Guinea 48-61 Papua New Guinea beat New Caledonia 61-48 at the Melanesia Cup 2017. They took control of the game posting a 16-9 run at the start of the game. Moreover Papua New Guinea needed a narrow 15-13 rally to enjoy a 31-22 halftime advantage. Waves, Medics end up level in Kerema basketball - 1 Year ago
IHU Waves forced Medics to a low 24-24 fulltime in the Kerema women's basketball competition on Sunday. It was neck-and-neck affair going down to the wire with the lead changing on several occasions.
