Papua New Guinea advanced into the semifinal stage of the Pacific Championship. They knocked down Fiji to set up the clash versus New Zealand Maori in the semis. Louisa Wallace scored 24 points to pace the winners.
Papua New Guinea claimed a 17:13 lead after ten minutes of action. They boosted the margin in the second term. Papua New Guinea accumulated a 34:22 halftime advantage. Papua New Guinea stayed in charge throughout the third term. They arrived at the final intermission up by 15 points 51:36. Fiji fired 23 points in the fourth term but could not avoid the defeat at the end. Betty Angula provided 20 points, while Muri added 11 points in the victory. Dale Wise responded with 12 points for Fiji. Mikaela Whippy (173-G-86) had 16 points in the losing case.
