Name: Peterson Opio

Position: Forward/Guard

Height: 195

Age: 21

What are your strengths and weaknesses in your game?

My strengths are running the lanes and I can post up pretty well.  Weaknesses my three point shooting.

How would you regard yourself on the defensive end?

Not too bad defensively.  I'm pretty much a system player I try and get players into spots, where they can’t make an easy shot.

How would you describe your season so far?

It's been pretty good so far.  We have had some good performances so far against Brisbane and Townsville.  We have Gary Boodnikoff coming in so our team is definitely getting better as the season progresses.

You are defending your QABL and ABA title this year.  How do you think you will do at defending both titles?

I think we will continue having the same form will season the play of basketball in a very positive way; we have a definite chance of repeating.  There are obviously good teams down south but when it comes to finals time it's anybody's game.

How has playing for the Cairns taipans development team helped you as a player?

It has been definitely a big part of my development.  It has been set up for five years, and each of five years I've been a part of the program.  I can see the improvements in my game.  We went to China last year that was definitely a big plus in my game.  I learnt a lot from that experience

What are your chances in playing in the NBL in the next few years?

It is an obvious goal of mine to play in the NBL level but there is some step that you have to take before you can reach that level like playing College basketball it's obvious the a big plus and can help you reach that level.

Are you going to play College basketball this season?

Sure
