Samoa names Preliminary squad for the South Pacific Games

Samoa will host the 2007 South Paficic Games at the end of August, of course the country submitted a team in both men and women basketball tournament. The federation announced a 23-name roster which features two us-based players Latoya Wily (183-C) and Aisha Ale (180-F) who suffered a severe knee injury earlier this season at Hutchinson College. Unfortunatly, most of the US-based players were unavailable like Amanda Afa'ese (178-G-86), Karla Tailele (165-G), Alofa Toiavao (190-C), Salaia Salave'a, Shawnee Slade, Dalia Dolia, Emma Tautolo and Anetoero Uiagalelei. Despite these missing players, Samoa will compete for a medal in the women tournament.
