Julius Barnes
Samoa came out firing in the opening minutes of the bronze medal match up against New Caledonia and never looked back. A contrast from their disappointing performance to Fiji in the knock-out rounds.
At half-time Samoa was comfortably in the lead with 41-26 points. New Caledonia had difficulty in breaking Samoa's defense which led to costly turn overs of which Samoa capitalized on. Play makers Trenson and Bradyn Akana's aggresive style of play put constant pressure on the New Caledonians rewarding Samoa with one too many free throws. Julius Barnes (186-G-81, agency: Octagon, college: Stanford) in a class of himself made a fantastic display of skills sealing Samoa's bronze medal win. Full time score being 85- 76.
