Australia down Samoa in Victoria in Day 2 of the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The home side needed 83:36 victory to remain undefeated.
Australia limited the guests for just 3 points in the first period and grabbed 28:3 advantage. They added 26-12 in the second frame and enjoyed 54:15 lead at the halftime. Moreover Australia won the third quarter 11-10 and led 40 points entering the last stanza. They did not slow down and added 18-11 in the last stanza.
Abiola Akintola stepped up with 16 points for the winners and Thomas Wilson added 13. Jock Perry scored 12, whilst Dejan Vasiljevic had 8. Ene Togia ended up with 8 points in the losing effort and Sapeti Tufuga posted 7. Alema Arp notched 6 and Theordore Mcfarland delivered 5.
