2012 Pacific Youth Championships: Australia dismantle Samoa

Australia - Samoa 142:9

Australia registered their third victory at the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The hosts routed Samoa to enter the playoffs unbeaten. Eight Aussie players scored in double digits. Georgia Pineau led the winners with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Samoa suffered the third loss in a row. Australia will take on Papua New Guinea, while Samoa will battle versus New Zealand in the quarterfinals.
Australia gave no chance for Samoa in this one. The Aussies built a 74:4 halftime lead. They held Samoa to 0 points in the third term and never looked back en route to the victory. Bridget OBrien connected for 19 points, while Elizabeth Tonks added 18 points in the victory. Janice Moke answered with 5 points in the loss.
