2012 Pacific Youth Championships: New Zealand coast past Samoa, into semifinal stage

New Zealand clinched the semifinal appearance at the 2012 Pacifi Youth Championships. The Emerging Junior Tall Ferns overwhelmed Samoa to set up the clash versus Guam tomorrow. Charlotte Elley and Hanna Tusa delivered 14 points each to pace the Kiwis.
New Zealand built a 26:8 lead ten minutes into the encounter. The Kiwis maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. Moreover they posted a 44:12 halftime lead. Samoa managed just 2 points in the third term to face a 14:70 deficit heading into the fourth quarter. The Emerging Junior Tall Ferns never looked back afterwards breezing to the victory. Gabriella Fotu posted 13 points in the win. Janice Moke answered with 9 points for Samoa. Sara Te'O chipped in 6 points in defeat.
