2012 Pacific Youth Championships: Papua New Guinea finish on a high

Papua New Guinea finished their Pacific Youth Championships campaign with victory. They overcame Samoan counterparts to end up in the seventh position. Renagi Fred posted 17 points and 15 boards in the victory.
Papua New Guinea enjoyed a narrow 14:13 lead after ten minutes. They extended it to 2 points at halftime 30:28. The breakthrough came in the third quarter. Papua New Guinea went on a 28:8 rally to open a comfortable 22-point lead. They never looked back afterwards cruising to the victory. Maggie Evo'O accounted for 15 points, while Marrina Boino provided 14 points in the win. Janice Moke answered with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Samoa. Leilani Tafili had 10 points in the loss.
