Chris Bartley is another college basketball player that has Samoan background.  His father was born in Samoa.  The 6'5" forward is currently entering his sophomore season at NCAA Division II team, Mount Olive College.  We would like to thank him for taking the time for this interview and we wish him all the best.    


What are your strengths and weaknesses in your game?

My strengths would be that I can play the post and shoot out on the perimiter. My weaknesses, I believe my defense could get a little better and sometimes I pass the ball too much.


What position do you prefer to play?

Power forward/small forward


Describe your role on this team last season and do you think that you might see increase in your playing time, this season?

Last season I came off the bench behind five seniors so when I got that chance to play, I gave it my all and I think that my playing time this season should increase.


Do you believe you can offer to the team, in your sophomore year? Yes, i think if I play hard every game and work hard in practice then I can offer a lot to this team.


Where do you believe you need to improve in this season?

I would say that my defense could be a little better and that I need to move my feet faster.


What are the expectations of the team this season?

I think we are better than last year and that we should go farther than l

Samoa wins gold - 2 Years ago
FIJI under-18 basketball men's team lost to Samoa 57-61 in the gold medal match of the B division in the 2016 International Basketball Federation Oceania U18 Championship yesterday. The match was played at the Vodafone Arena in Suva. Fiji led 18-9 at the end of the first quarter before Samoa came back in the other three quarters winning 15-13, 17-11 and 20-15.
