Malama Leaupepe Leads Samoa Womens Basketball to Win Bronze

There were 7 seconds left on the clock with the score was tied at 85-85. Malama Leaupepe (173-G-96) puts in a 2-point shot to secure the bronze for Samoa 87-85. Guam still had a chance with 3 seconds to go, they took the ball down the court but missed the last shot in an exciting game of women's basketball. Malama Leaupepe has been carrying the Samoa Women's basketball throughout the Pacific Games competition with double figures for goals and rebounds in every game. Leaupepe scored 50 out of Samoa's 87 points with 21 rebounds. The medal ceremony will be held later this afternoon after the finals between American Samoa and Fiji.
