Bulls ink Dru-Leo Leusogi-Ape- January 16, 2024The Franklin Bulls (NBL) have agreed to terms with 22-year-old Samoan guard, Dru-Leo Leusogi-Ape (189cm-2001), for the upcoming 2024 season. Leusogi-Ape previously played for the Sharks last summer. In 9 games in New Zealand, he averaged 7.8 points per game, 1.9 rpg, and 2.0 apg.
He was also a member of the Samoan international program for several years. He played for the Samoan Senior National Team in 2019 and had previously played for the Under 17 National Team in 2017. Five years ago, he represented Samoa at the Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa. His statistics at that event were as follows: 5 games played, scoring an average of 19.8 points per game, grabbing 7.8 rpg, dishing out 1.8 apg, recording 1.2 spg, blocking 2.0 shots per game (bpg), shooting 48.1% from the field (FGP), 24.1% from three-point range (3PT), and 59.1% from the free-throw line (FT). He has previously played for the New Zealand team Airs. In 2019, he received the Australiabasket.com All-Pacific Games Honorable Mention award.
