American Samoa grabs the third win at the South Pacific Games

American Samoa - Solomon Islands 88:50
American Samoa team continued their perfect campaign at the South Pacific Games in Samoa. They beat Solomon Islands in their third encounter at the tournament and topped the Pool with 3-0 record. Solomon Islands meanwhile fell to 0-3 record and still seek for their first success in competition.
American Samoa dominated the game and spurred to a 34:19 lead at halftime. They somewhat eased the attitude in the second half allowing Solomon Islands to play more aggressive offence. However Solomon Islands defense still was not solid enough and American Samoa used it to pour in 54 points in the second half completing a comprehensive victory. Derisa Taleni led the action with 19 points and 6 boards for American Samoa. Shara Tauai-Yandall added 17 points for the winners. Delma Peseika answered with 15 points in a losing effort. Natala Pongi had 9 points in defeat.
