Solomon Islands - Fiji 43-82

Fiji started Pacific Games 2023 with the win over Solomon Islands 82-43. Fiji won the opening period 21-14 and added a 29-11 surge in the second frame. Moreover, Fiji dominated the second half with two more comfortable wins to achieve the first win at the tournament.
Miliakere Koyamainavure (175-F-1993) top-scored for the winners with 22 points and Matila Vocea (183-PF-2000) added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Letava Kenny nailed 14, whilst Kayla Mendez (169-G-1986) scored 10. Joycelyn Basia (1985) replied with 12 points in the losing effort.
