Tahiti women won the gold medal against New Caledonia ina see-sawing match. Tahiti got an early lead on New Caledonia, but thanks to the efforts of Wasselie Luepak, New Caledonia fought back to be ahead at the half time break 28 points to 23. The New Caledonians led at the three quarter break, although the difference was just 2 points. Tahiti's Alizee Lefranc went on a one-woman mission to get Tahiti to the lead, taking 7 steals and scoring most of her 20 points in the last quarter. An injury to Luepak saw her leave the court for sometime, and the full court defensive pressure of the Tahitians proved very successful. Myriam Fenuafanote top scored for New Caledonia with 12, while Maea Lextreyt put in 17 for Tahiti.
