Guam silence Tahiti to close Day 2 at the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. Guam celebrated the initial victory 84:54 for 1-1 record.
Both teams entered the game without victories and hoped for the initial success. Guam looked much better from the start and took 28:16 lead. Tahiti meanwhile replied with 23-15 in the second period, but failed later in the game. Guam erupted with 24-3 surge in the third quarter and never looked behind in the game. They added 17-12 rally in the last stanza for the final victory.
Michael Sakazaki top-scored for the winners with 25 points and Bruce Merrill notched 11. Samuel Sotelo brought 10, while Joshua Sebastian added 9. Jean Peters answered with 12 points in defeat, whilst Tepoea Teurua and Maxime Ausangee had 9 apiece. Poea Kaimuko followed them with 7 points in a loss.
