Australia-Tahiti 87:55

Australia conquer Pool 1 of the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The team finished with 3-0 record after 87:55 win over Tahiti. The latter finished with 0-3 record but also advanced to the Quarterfinals.
Australia looked better from the first minutes and managed to win all quarters of the game. They started with 20-14 and added 26-16 later in the half. Moreover the hosts won the third quarter 22-12 and finished with 19-13 in the last stanza.
Darryl Mcdowell-White and William Mcdowell-White stepped up with 15 points each. Dejan Vasiljevic notched 14, while Jock Perry scored 13 and Abiola Akintola added 9. Byron Vahapata and Maxime Ausangee replied with 12 points apiece.
Tomorrow Tahiti will face New Zealand, while Australia will take on Papua New Guinea in the opener.
