New Caledonia-Tahiti 78:46
New Caledonia down Tahiti in Victoria at the Classification Round of the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. They won 78:46 and will play tomorrow for the 5th place. Tahiti remains winless at the tournament and will face Papua New Guinea for the last spot.
New Caledonia went on a lead from the first minutes and reached 22-15 at the end of the first period. They added 23-10 in the second frame and continued their dominance in the second half as well. New Caledonia won the third period 18-6 and finished the game with 18-15 in the last stanza.
Loic Meztdorf top-scored for the winners with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Gabriel Honda netted 13. Nicolas Canaldo scored 10, whilst Nicolas Cedare-Wimian, Joan Delaunay-Belleville and Cedric Tetuanui had 8 each. Jean Peters answered with 13 points in defeat, while Tehaurii Taimana and Maxime Ausangee added 7 apiece.
