AS Aorai will play the Pacific Champions Cup against New Caledonia champion JS Valleeèdu-tir, the three-time Tahiti defending champion is in good shape after defeating Excelsior 107-97. On the ladies side, Excelsior will host SS Independente.

At the end of the game against Excelsior, Aorai's coach Pierre Villant wasn't too happy. "My players wanted to have fun and score a lot of points but in the other half of the court, Excelsior managed to score 97pts. This is not a good thing before playing the Caledonia champions JSVDT" he said.
Aorai made the break in the first quarter 33-21 despite a good game from Eric Teriirooiterai's players, half-time came on a 53-43 score. The lead was cut to 5 in the last quarter and Aorai lost three main pieces: Honoura Bonnet, Beo Tetuaiteroi and Novick Teinaro because of foul problems. Aorai managed to secure the game but that was harder than expected. Aorai will play a Vallee-du-tir squad who will be looking for a revenge since they lost the same tournament in 2003.

In the women cup, Excelsior is ready to play too. They won the tahitian league last season over Aorai with a very agressive game, the team is also in good shape, they defeated Misson 61-56 last week. This is a new era for Brigitte Langomazino's players, after Aorai won the last two Pacific Champions Cup, Excelsior want to keep the trophy in Tahiti against SS Independente.
