French Cup: Aorai was too short

2005 Pacific champion, As Aorai was unable to beat the french team Rupella in their French Cup game. The tahitian lost the game 57-71 and Rupella advanced to the next round.

In front of more than 1000 people, Aorai started the game with a 7-0 lead thanks to the difference of level between these two teams. Unfortunatly, Aorai was unable to keep this lead into the second quarter. The french players were a little bit disturbed by the heat and the slippery court but they had too much weapons, they were taller and stronger. A 14-point loss was pretty logical and everybody enjoyed the game. The tahitians were pleased to play against such good players and the french really enjoyed their trip and the game.
AS Aorai will now look for another Pacific Champions Cup against the New Caledonia champ to have another run in the French Cup next season.
