Tahiti overcame Samoa 56-55 to clinch the Final berth at the Pacific Games 2023. Trailing 11-18 at the end of the first quarter, Tahiti dominated the second half. They replied with an 18-6 surge in the third quarter and survived the late push from the opponents at the end.
Mahinetea Tavanae (176-G-2003) top-scored for the winner with 13 points and Moina Michelle Tuieinui-Le Beherec as well as Oceane Lefranc (177-SF-1993) poured in 8 each. Azaleeah Oloapu (180-C-2006), Fayreen Fualau (1998) and Kira-May Filemu (178-F-2006) answered with 10 points each in a loss.
