Will Taukiuvea (193-G-83) has just played his senior year at Nebraska-Kearney, averaging in double-figures throughout the season. His team lost in the NCAA Division II National Tournament opening round. he will now head to the pro level, he's got an US passport but he can use his tongan roots to play in Australia or New Zealand. We'd like to thank him for taking the time to do this interview and wish him the best of the luck for the next seasons.

 

How would you describe yourself?
I'm 6'3 (193cm), 210 (92kg), Combo Guard, can post and shoot the jump shot. Funny, outgoing, active and coachable.

 

Your background is from Tonga, did actually born there?
I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. (His father is from Tonga)

 

How did you start playing basketball?
I picked up a basketball in 2nd and always against tougher competition like my brother and his friends. growing up playing basketball was all I thought about.

 

What was your best memory in basketball?
In Kearney we played against Wayne State College and i scored 28pts in the second half. Another memory is in High School, I had career high and scored 42pts in a game.

 

You have played your senior year at Nebraska-Kearney, what would you do next?
I would like to continue my basketball career at the next level.

 

Have you been in touch with basketball in Tonga?
No

 

Would like to play for the Tonga National Team?
Yes, of course
