Marquin Chandler
GIE Maile Matrix agreed terms with experienced 36-year old American ex-international forward
Marquin Chandler (202-100kg-82, college:
SJSU). It is actually his comeback to GIE Maile Matrix as he has played here before. Chandler played last season at
Tonga NT in Tongan Mitchell Cup. His team won Mitchell Americas Cup for two years in a row (2018 and 2019). Chandler was voted Latinbasket.com All-Mitchell Americas Cup 2nd Team in 2019. He was a member of USA Senior National Team in 2015.
Chandler is quite experienced player. He has played in nine different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Chandler has played previously professionally in Bahrain, Japan (Chiba Jets), Korea (Anyang KGC), Latvia, Philippines, Portugal (Benfica), Puerto Rico, Singapore and IBL (Tri City B.).
It's very possible he may end his playing career at GIE Maile Matrix.
Chandler attended San Jose State University until 2005 and it will be his 15th (!!!) season as a professional player.
He could be described:
A natural wing who played 4/5 in High School, adding some inside skills. Can spend time in the point forward position, bringing up the ball most of the time. Can also hit the three point shot with great accuracy, especially when you need it. Dribbles very well in open court.
