Last week in Port-Vila, the Vanuatu Basketball Federation hosted the PVBA Finals at Kawenu Court. In the Premier League, Tupuji Imere secured the first place over Stade United and Cannons.

Kawenu School Court was the place to be last week, the best team from Port-Vila battled for the coveted Port-Vila Basketball Association trophies. In the Premier League, three teams were tied with a 2-1 record: Tupuji Imere, Stade United and Cannons. The league's official used the head-to-head results to name the winner. Tupuji Imere's 13-point victory over Cannons gave this team a decisive edge. Stade United defeated Tupuji only by 3 (55-52), and Cannons defeated Stade United by 4 (40-36). Tatoko was winless in this tournament but the team never gave up, their biggest loss was a 13-point margin. In the First Division, the resulsts were the same with three teams tied at 2-1. Thanks to the particuliar head-to-head results, Ginias was awarded the trophy over Pango and Stade United's second team.
The PVBA was a great event in Port-Vila. Peter Izono learnt a lot in FIBA Oceania seminar last month and used it to promote this tournament.
