Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Canberra Gunners and 5th ranked Sutherland Sharks had identical 1-0 record. This time Canberra Gunners used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Sutherland 84-63 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in League. Canberra Gunners outrebounded Sutherland Sharks 53-32 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. William Mayfield stepped up and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and center Glenn Morison (208, college: St.Edward's) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds. Callum Norris responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Geoffrey Gerlach scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Canberra Gunners went down to second position (League) due to points difference. Loser Sutherland Sharks dropped to the seventh place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
