Not a big story in a game in Greensborough where bottom-ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (0-4) were outplayed by seventh ranked Tigers (3-1) 93-48 on Saturday. Tigers forced 21 Diamond Valley Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 60-40 including 22 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Diamond Valley Eagles' players. The best player for the winners was guard Isabella Brancatisano (170-95) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Monique Conti (165-99) chipped in 23 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Sophie Burrows who recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles still closes the standings with four games lost. Tigers will face higher ranked Lady Braves (#4) in Bendigo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Diamond Valley Eagles will play on the road against Sabres (#10) in Cheltenham and hope to get finally their first victory.
