Everything went according to plan in Gawler where leader Tigers (5-0) outleveled bottom-ranked Lions (0-5) 120-34 on Saturday. Tigers well out of reach of Lions shooting 70.8 percent from the field and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game, while Lions only scored three points from the stripe. Tigers forced 32 Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 21-8. It was a great shooting night for Tigers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Teige Morrell who scored 26 points and 4 steals (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Morgan Yaeger (175-98, college: Oregon) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Evei Kleinig who recorded 7 points and April Lamb added 4 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers maintains second place in League with 5-0 record having just one victory less than leader Eltham W. Loser Lions still closes the standings with five games lost. Tigers will face Flames (#7) in Marden in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Lions will play on the road against Rockets in Adelaide and hope to get finally their first victory.
