Regular Season Round 10: Hobart C. - Eltham W. 74-72

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Huskies (4-2) edged 15th ranked Eltham Wildcats (1-4) in Hobart 74-72 on Friday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Eltham Wildcats outrebounded Huskies 47-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a very good performance for naturalized Greek guard Jonathon Mines (193-91, college: NMHU) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. Guard Koen Sapwell (193, college: CS Monterey) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Adam Doyle (176-91) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Ovie Magbegor (196, college: UWG) added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Eltham Wildcats. Four Eltham Wildcats players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Huskies moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Eltham Wildcats dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. Huskies will face higher ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (#6) in Greensborough in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eltham Wildcats will play at home against Sabres (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
