There was no surprise when 5th ranked Forestville Eagles (3-3) lost to top-ranked Sturt Sabres (6-0) in Goodwood 91-96 on Saturday. Sturt Sabres outrebounded Forestville Eagles 43-32 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for guard Joel Spear (192-94, college: S.Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Sam Daly (193-95, college: Chaminade) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Sturt Sabres' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Michael Harris replied with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Brandon Brine (198-91, college: Lethbridge) added 14 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Forestville Eagles. Five Sturt Sabres and four Forestville Eagles players scored in double figures. Sturt Sabres maintains first position in League with 6-0 record. Loser Forestville Eagles dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
