The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Sharks as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Sharks edged 6th ranked North Bears in Sutherland 82-81. Sharks made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Sharks outrebounded North Bears 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Courtney West (193, college: Portland St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Lauren Nicholson (183-93, college: St.Mary's, CA) helped adding 18 points and 6 assists. Guard Kate Seebohm (170-91, college: California, PA) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and forward Isabelle Morgan (181-93) scored 22 points. Four North Bears players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. North Bears at the other side keep the sixth place with two games lost. North Bears will play next round against strong Hills Hornets trying to get back on the winning streak. Sharks will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Bruins in Condell Park.
