There was a small surprise when eighteenth ranked Dandenong Rangers (1-6) beat 16th ranked Tigers (1-7) in Melbourne 93-85 on Sunday. Dandenong Rangers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tigers' 28 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game, while Tigers only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded Tigers 50-25 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Oliver Hayes-Brown (208, college: UC Riverside) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. Riley Simmons contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Dandenong Rangers' coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Keenan Willie answered with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Anthony Karabatsos (188, college: Seton Hill) added 15 points and 6 assists in the effort for Tigers.
