Rather expected game in Gawler where bottom-ranked Lions (0-8) were crushed by seventh ranked Flames (3-5) 101-47 on Saturday. Flames forced 33 Lions turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. It was a great evening for guard Alex Wilson (174-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!). Genna Anderson helped adding 14 points. Four Flames players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was April Lamb with 23 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Meaza Otto scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flames maintains seventh place in League with 3-5 record. Loser Lions still closes the standings with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
