There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Cougars (2-5) lost to thirteenth ranked Eagles (2-7) in Morley 63-69 on Friday. Eagles had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Jarrad Anastasio (199-97) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. Forward Andrej Donlagic (197-97) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Eagles players scored in double figures. Swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: UWG) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Seva Chan (187-94) added 7 points and 8 assists in the effort for Cougars. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eagles moved-up to twelfth place in League. Loser Cougars dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Eagles will face league's second-placed Tigers in Willetton in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
