Regular Season Round 14: SW Slammers - Lakeside L. 65-96

Very predictable result when third ranked Lightning (5-1) rolled over 9th ranked Slammers (2-4) in Bunbury 96-65 on Friday. Lightning forced 26 Slammers turnovers. Strangely Slammers outrebounded Lightning 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Kyle Armour (183-89, college: Augusta) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 9 assists. American guard Jack Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Lightning players scored in double figures. Lightning's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Mitch Keller (203-96, college: Delta St.) replied with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Caleb Van De Griend added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Slammers. Lightning maintains third position in League with 5-1 record behind leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Slammers dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Lightning will face Flames (#4) in Rockingham in the next round. Slammers will play at home against the league's leader Hawks (#1) and hope to win that game.
