Not a big story in a game in North Lake where 8th ranked Giants (4-6) were rolled over by third ranked Lightning (7-2) 118-90 on Saturday. Lightning made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Lightning outrebounded Giants 41-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Jay Bowie (196-92, college: Marist) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Corey Shervill (201-88, college: St.Edward's) helped adding 16 points. The best for the losing side was swingman Jerome Reid (195-96) with 16 points and forward Deng Kuany (201, college: ENMU) scored 15 points and 4 steals. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lightning maintains third place in League with 7-2 record behind leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Giants dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Lightning will face Flames (#6) in Rockingham in the next round. Giants will play at home against Suns and hope to win that game.
