Regular Season Round 18: SC Phoenix - Rockhampton 111-52

Bottom-ranked Cyclones is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Sunshine CP (4-1) 111-52. Sunshine CP dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Cyclones' 32. Sunshine CP forced 26 Cyclones turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Cyclones' players. The former international Kathleen Macleod (167-86) had a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 steals to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Amy Browne (178-90) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Sunshine CP players scored in double figures. Sunshine CP's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Lara McSpadden (193-99) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and Tai Wakelin-Gray (-96) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Sunshine CP have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Cyclones at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Sunshine CP will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cyclones will play at home against Rollers (#7) and hope to get finally their first victory.
