There was a small surprise in Sippy Downs where eighth ranked Rip City (2-2) beat 6th ranked Capitals (3-3) 74-64 on Saturday. It was a great evening for forward Alex Delaney (183-95, college: SFC) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Carlie Smith helped adding 10 points and 14 rebounds. Four Rip City players scored in double figures. At the losing side New Zealand guard Brooke Blair (173-94, college: Idaho St.) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Madison Woodford scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Capitals' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rip City maintains eighth place in League with 2-2 record. Loser Capitals dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Rip City will face Dolphins (#12) in Cairns in the next round.
