There was no surprise when 7th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (5-5) lost to second ranked Frankston Blues (9-2) in Seaford 93-111 on Saturday. Frankston Blues made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Diamond Valley Eagles turnovers. American forward Dillon Stith (201-92, college: St.Vincent) nailed 30 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and forward Dan Trist (206-92, college: Lafayette) accounted for 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Frankston Blues players scored in double figures. Robert Heath came up with 38 points (!!!) and 4 steals and Kenyan power forward Desmond OWili (203-88) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Diamond Valley Eagles in the defeat. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Frankston Blues maintains second place in League with 9-2 record behind leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Frankston Blues will meet at home Ringwood Hawks (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Diamond Valley Eagles will play against Ballarat Miners and hope to secure a win.
